Today, the whole world is penetrating waves of covid variants that are creating an unrecoverable impact on the education field. It has put the children in such a position wherein they are highly in a tense state of mind which is preventing their mental development to a certain extent. Today, in this blog I attempted to show how the state of child and adult education is suffering through hard times!
Today, when we see the education, teaching-learning process and children it can be noticed that the connection link between the two is broken. Due to this, the sharing of thoughts, if we see the education process as a process of sharing or transferring thoughts, is not taking place.
Another reason, behind, why the link is necessary to build is because of the progress and development in children both on a psychological and physical level, stocks somewhere due to this cut-off. As a result the child, many times, leads him/herself to ways that may be good and may not. S/he does not know in which direction one is leading life and constantly moves towards one’s downfall.
Current State of Education:
Education is a very broad and wide term and topic which cannot be sufficed in few words. Notwithstanding, the current state of education is the state where it is under the transition phase. As Information and Communication Technology has brought a huge change in the world, education is also not an exception from it. With the involvement of ICT in education, it has been developed or changed in different ways. Either we take up the process of teaching-learning or the way the content of textbooks and its presentation in class to students. All things have been transformed. Today, education is being transmitted to learners through online platforms and for that teachers are also using various social media platforms like Blogs, YouTube, etc. that the children can understand the concepts in better ways. While on the other hand different ways of learning like distance learning, blended learning, etc. have also been developed.
Children’s Condition:
The major impact that is noticed on children is regarding the health status of them. The students, as per the reports, are suffering from the psychological issues like, unable to concentrate on studies, memory power has been decreased – the students, today, often complain that I fail in remembering what I read and therefore I fail in performing during examinations. Apart from that, as students are receiving education through online mediums by seeing on either mobile or computer screens, has created eyes and visibility related problems in them. Today, children in very small age complain that I am unable to see properly or my eyes are burning so on so forth and with this reason they often deny to attend the session. As it has been said that if your health is not good then you will not be able to concentrate on any other thing.
As per the reports of UNESCO approximately more than one billion children education has been stopped due to school closure and to resolve and to take the countries out from this problem they (countries) have implemented remote learning programmes. The mediums that are being used today are not available to all and there are people whose economic condition is in such a state that they are not able to afford the cost of the things for their children. The advanced technologies are getting developed but with that, the ratio of education is not increasing because the income of the person is not enough to make it happen by educating either themselves or children. Thus, it has been felt that there is a strong possibility that many children will never return to school for learning.
In the online mode of learning, children are free and able to do so what they want. Due to this what we call a disciplinary environment is somehow lacking in the online system of education. Apart from that, it is also a big task for teachers too because they have to work with new modes and methods. Some may say that what’s wrong with it? I’ll say there is. Because, until it’s a problem of / limited to self-development or adjusting oneself is ‘okay’ but when it comes to moulding others its highly tough task.
Another aspect that has been found among students is that the students have nowadays begun to keep themselves aloof from studies and examinations. Many times it has been seen that when the schedule of examination gets declared children say ‘NO’ to appear in the exam. The reason is yet to be discovered. Yes, a probable answer can be given that while learning through online mode they have not learnt properly, therefore they are running away from the exam instead of facing it. The students also keep themselves away from studies because they don’t want to sit in front of the screen for a long time at one place, which is human nature too that it’s tough to sit at one place for a long period.
Thus, in brief, it can be said that education penetrating a tough phase and for students, it’s a challenge to build themselves by themselves.
